On invitation by the De La Salle University (DSLU), ADFIAP represented by its Knowledge Resources Executive & Sustainability Officer, Mr. Enrique Florencio, spoke at the Junior Philippine Association of Management Accountants (JPAMA) convention themed “SURGE of the Future Accounting Professionals” on December 4, 2016 at the DSLU Campus in Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines.

The event which is the largest project of JPAMA aims to inculcate to the participants the importance and relevance of improving accounting competence and securing globally-recognized certifications for accounting students in the region.

Mr. Florencio discussed the topic “Social and Environmental Accounting: Demonstrating Green Thinking” before more than 500 hundred JPAMA students. He shared to the audience ADFIAP’s green initiatives and projects and highlighted the Association’s sustainability reporting management anchored on the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) sustainability reporting guidelines. In addition, Mr. Florencio stressed the importance of incorporating social and environmental welfare in management decisions, especially to prevent and lessen society and environmental complications.
