The 29th ADFIAP Annual Meetings to be held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka on May 8-11, 2006 is attracting early registrants as preparations for the event step up to high gear.

DFCC Bank, the meeting host, has initiated making a conference logo (please see separate story). An event website https://www.adfiap.org/conference has also been created for a 24/7 access to program activities, conference topics, speakers, registration arrangements and other relevant information.

The program highlights includes the 63rd Board of Directors Meeting, the 11th Extraordinary Meeting of the General Assembly, the ADFIAP Awards 2006, the Conference proper, and the Fellowship Day.

The double-feature theme for the Conference proper is “DFIs: Are they Sustainable?/Opportunities in Sustainable Investments” which comprises interesting and exciting line-up of thought-provoking topics. The conference sessions include: Session I: “Role of DFIs in the Current Financial System: Should DFIs & Commercial Banks Compete or Co-exist?”; Session II: “DFIs & the Regulatory Environment: Should DFIs be Regulated the Same Way as Commercial Banks?”; Session III: ”DFIs & Funding Sources: Can DFIs Survive without Concessionaly Financing?”; Session IV: “How Important is Profitability for a DFI?”; and Session V: “DFIs & Sustainable Investments: Opportunities for Future Growth”.
