IDF, AC conduct webinar on bank operational risk and resiliency

The Asia-Pacific Institute of Development Finance (IDF), ADFIAP’s professional career development and credentialing service unit, and the ADFIAP Consulting Group (AC), conducted a virtual seminar workshop on “Bank Operational Risk and Resiliency and the Role of Digitalization” from March 16-19, 2021. Eleven (11) senior officers and managers from the Micro Development Bank of Papua New Guinea and the Land Bank of the Philippines attended the program.

This virtual event is part of a series of online learning sessions for ADFIAP members and development partners with the objective of providing participants with insights from fellow development finance professionals as well as to update them on current trends and practical tools to further improve their work in the midst of the pandemic.

The program was aimed at: (a) stepping-up knowledge towards transitioning from pre-COVD-19 risk management to post COVID-19 risk resiliency and (b) addressing the gaps and interdependencies of risks and mitigants towards improved processes and digital transformation in relation to good governance, compliance, and overall business resiliency.

The AC team headed by Mrs. Corazon Conde, along with Mrs. Arlene Orencia, Mrs. Carmen Cintura, and Atty. Alberto Reyno covered the following topics: (1) overview of striving for operational resiliency (2) principles of operational resiliency (3) digitalization under the new normal and (4) risk control and mitigation in manual and digital structures. Group dynamics and sharing of best practices were also held to maximize the participant’s learning process. Mrs. Cecilia Ibarra and Mrs. Cristina Aquino facilitated the programs.

The seminar workshop was rated highly by the participants. For inquiries and how ADFIAP can help through training and consulting services, please email at [email protected]
