IDF conducts risk management workshop in Manila

RISK grppic - FinalADFIAP’s Asia-Pacific Institute of Development Finance (IDF) together with the ADFIAP Consulting (AC) Group, conducted the International Seminar-Workshop on “Risk-Based Credit Appraisal & Management” on July 27-31, 2015 in Manila which was attended by 33 loan officers from ADFIAP members in Fiji, Samoa and the Philippines.

The 5-day program focused on the assessment of credit risks of loan proposals by providing a sound foundation for upgrading credit skills and practical appraisal methods of loan officers from traditional credit analysis techniques to a new learning paradigm of assessing credit risks of loan proposals. Topics included: overview of the management process; the seven risk hurdles; credit risk management system; critical points to remember in credit risk management; credit risk management framework; best SME lending practices; management risk assessment; market risk assessment; cash flow construction; cash flow analysis; financial ratios; technical risk assessment; assessing credit risk; credit administration; credit review process; and remedial management.

The resource persons of the seminar included the members of the ADFIAP Consulting team led by Ms. Cora Conde, Group Head, Atty. Alberto Reyno, Managing Principal, Ms. Arlene Orencia, Head of Project and Programs, Ms. Cecilia Ibarra, Head of Training & Advocacy, Ms. Cristy Aquino, Head Business Development and Ms. Carmelita Chavez, Consultant.
