MANILA, Philippines — On May 11, 2026, the ADFIAP Secretariat, led by Secretary General Enrique Florencio, conducted a high-level visit to the Network Consolidated Cooperative Bank (NCCB) to explore future collaborations and highlight a compelling success story emerging from within the Association.
While the meeting covered key updates on digitalization initiatives and upcoming international forums, the centerpiece of the engagement was a powerful testimonial from NCCB CEO Raul Calayan, who shared how strategic membership in ADFIAP has accelerated the bank’s institutional growth.
The “Delegate-Meets-Delegate” Advantage
In a candid exchange, Mr. Calayan described how NCCB’s journey with ADFIAP has been shaped by the Association’s unique delegate-meets-delegate networking platform. Unlike conventional corporate conferences, ADFIAP events—such as the CEO Forum and the Annual Meetings—offer a relaxed yet professional environment where senior executives can engage in meaningful, one-on-one dialogue.
According to Mr. Calayan, these interactions have opened doors to strategic partnerships with major financial institutions that would have otherwise been difficult to access. By working closely with fellow leaders, NCCB has connected cooperative banking with large-scale financial collaboration.
“This is a success story,” said Secretary General Enrique Florencio. “It demonstrates that ADFIAP is not only about policy and advocacy—it is about enabling the direct, measurable growth of our members through the power of connection.”
Synergy in Action: The SBCORP Partnership
The strength of the ADFIAP network was further underscored by Mr. Calayan’s announcement of an upcoming Loan Agreement with the Small Business Corporation (SBCORP)—another esteemed ADFIAP member. This milestone stands as a concrete example of how the Association’s ecosystem fosters business opportunities and inter-member cooperation.
Secretary General Florencio confirmed his attendance at the signing ceremony to witness this important achievement.
Looking Ahead: Colombo 2026 and Digital Transformation
The visit also aligned leadership on several forward-looking initiatives:
- Colombo 2026: The Secretary General provided updates on the ADFIAP Annual Meetings, now scheduled for September 23–25, 2026, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In recognition of his leadership and sectoral insights, Mr. Calayan has been invited to moderate a high-level session during the event.
- Digitalization (ABANX): The Secretariat highlighted the progress of ADFIAPNET’s ABANX digitalization initiative, supported by Land Bank and ADFIAP. The project continues to reach new milestones, particularly with the Cooperative Bank of Cotabato in Mindanao.
A Partnership Anchored in Growth
As NCCB continues to scale its operations, its partnership with ADFIAP remains a cornerstone of its strategy—affirming that in the world of development finance, the right connections are indeed the most valuable currency for growth.
