    ADFIAP’s Institute of Development Finance (IDF), the career development and training center of the Association, conducted a Study Tour Program on SME Financing & Development, from March 22 to 26, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur and Malacca, Malaysia with the participation of the Association of African DFIs.

    The program aims: 1) To expose participants to best practices on Microfinance and SME Finance through institutional visits to various Microfinance and SME major players which include policy-making bodies and conduits of wholesale and retail Microfinance and SME funds; 2) To deepen the participants’ knowledge and understanding of Microfinance and SME operations through field visits to Microfinance/SME centers; and, 3) To provide a platform for exchanging views and ideas among participants leading to a fuller understanding of the significant roles financial institutions play in the promotion of Microfinance/SME Finance in their respective countries. Field Trips (Institutional and SME/Microfinance Centers) and Cultural Tour Participants visited the following institutions: 1. Planters Development Bank (Private Development Bank) 2. Development Bank of the Philippines (Government Financial Institution) 3. People’s Credit and Finance Corporation (Government Financial Institution) 4.
