ADFIAP and Etech Germany are pleased to announce that a 2 Day International Conference on Greening Financial Institutions which is being presented and under the auspices of the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions (WFDFI) will be held from the 5th to 6th of July 2012 in Karlsruhe, Germany. This will be followed by an optional excursion on Saturday, the 7th of July.
The conference provides top executives and senior members of financial institutions and other stakeholders to discuss: climate change, environmental degradation and the emergence of the green economy; the changing role of financial service providers as the economies and financial markets get reshaped; and innovative solutions, success stories and best practices for embedding sustainability in financial institutions. This conference is a distinctive forum to deliberate on financial innovation and business case to green operations and to modify or develop financial products to capitalise on opportunities emerging in numerous sectors, such as in the fields of sustainable infrastructure, energy efficient real estate, green mobility, clean energy, organic agriculture and in businesses and projects that protect investors and green and enhance financial institutions´ performance.
Further to knowledge sharing and deliberating on green finance and on the steps DFIs can take to support our transition to low carbon and sustainable economy; the upcoming conference will also help establish partnerships and in developing synergies. It provides an excellent opportunity to network with the senior members of financial community, multilateral agencies, governmental institutions, academia, sustainable and environmental management practitioners and other stakeholders around the world.
