Al-Amanah Islamic Bank Marks Five Decades of Service and Innovation in the Philippines

Today, Al-Amanah Islamic Investment Bank of the Philippines celebrates a significant milestone—its 52nd anniversary. Founded on August 2, 1973, as the Philippine Amanah Bank, Al-Amanah has grown to be the country’s first and only Islamic bank, offering Shariah-compliant financial services to millions of Filipinos.

Headquartered in Zamboanga City, Al-Amanah has played a key role in promoting financial inclusion and supporting the economic growth of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Over time, the bank has expanded its presence by opening branches nationwide, including in Malabon, Metro Manila.

Under the leadership of Chairman and CEO Amilbahar P. Amilasan Jr., Al-Amanah continues to innovate and adapt to the changing needs of its clients. The bank has introduced various products and services, including electronic banking, Islamic pawnshop services, and financial literacy programs for public school students.

As Al-Amanah marks its 52nd anniversary, we commend the bank’s dedication to providing ethical and Shariah-compliant financial solutions that serve the diverse needs of its customers. With its commitment to excellence and integrity, Al-Amanah continues to be a trusted partner in promoting economic growth and financial inclusion in the Philippines
