DBP, LBP, and Pag-IBIG Fund formally reaffirm their commitment to PBBM’s “Pambansang Pabahay.”

GFIs formally reaffirm their commitment to PBBM’s “Pambansang Pabahay.” Government Financial Institutions (GFI) formally pledged their support for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.’s “Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino” Program on December 21 in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija. Jose Rizalino Acuzar, Secretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), confirmed this after signing Memorandums of Understanding with the leaders of GFIs like the Pag-IBIG Fund, Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), and Land Bank of the Philippines.

The presidents of the DBP, SSS, and GSIS, Emmanuel Herbosa, Michael Regino, Jose Arnulfo Veloso, Marilene Acosta, chief executive of the Pag-IBIG Fund, and Cecilia Borromeo, all personally signed on behalf of their respective organizations at Palayan City with Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito and Mayor Viandrei Nicole Cuevas of Palayan City as witnesses to the MOU.

According to the MOU, the GFIs have agreed to collaborate especially on funding strategies for DHSUD’s housing initiatives and allocate financial, technical, and operational resources for Pambansang Pabahay as part of their priority programs to develop and improve current housing programs. The program addresses two issues in the housing industry: access to funding and affordability. For the upcoming six years, the “Pambansang Pabahay” has already received a P250 billion commitment from the Pag-IBIG Fund.
