DBP Reinforces Central Luzon Presence with New Pampanga Branch Groundbreaking

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), a founding member of ADFIAP, recently broke ground for its new branch and office building within the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center (DMGC) in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. This strategic expansion underscores DBP’s unwavering commitment to providing accessible and development-driven banking services across Central Luzon.

The new DBP facility, envisioned as a one-stop shop, will house a branch lite unit, the Central Luzon Branch Banking Group, and eventually the San Fernando lending center. It aims to centralize DBP services, improving convenience for its diverse clientele, including national government agencies, local government units, and critical business sectors, notably Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
DBP President and CEO Michael De Jesus highlighted that the Pampanga community’s trust continues to drive the state bank’s growth in the region. DBP Chairperson Philip Lo noted that the vision for new branches, initially discussed in 2023, is now coming to fruition, making development financing more accessible to the people of San Fernando and beyond.

Francis Thaddeus Rivera, DBP Branch Banking Group Central Luzon Head, emphasized the importance of a physical presence within the region’s administrative hub to better serve core clients and reinforce DBP’s developmental mandate. William Beltran, DMGC Management Committee Chairperson and Philippine Information Agency Regional Head, welcomed DBP as the 52nd agency to establish an office within the DMGC, reinforcing the center’s role as a hub for efficient government services.

This expansion signifies a concrete step towards a revitalized DBP, aligning with its ongoing efforts to support key sectors such as infrastructure, tourism, health, and MSMEs. DBP currently operates three branches in Pampanga—Clark, Guagua, and San Fernando—along with a dedicated lending center.

This initiative is a testament to DBP’s dedication to fostering inclusive growth and supporting the economic development of communities across the Philippines.
