NABARD Gains Strategic Approval for Expansive Rural Infrastructure Projects Under RIDF

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), a prominent member of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), has received in-principle approval from a high-powered sanctioning panel for a broad array of new initiatives under its flagship Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).

This milestone marks a significant leap forward in mobilizing development finance to strengthen rural infrastructure across India. The approved projects will channel substantial funding into critical areas such as rural connectivity, agricultural productivity, and socio-economic upliftment—reaffirming NABARD’s central role in shaping inclusive growth and sustainable development in underserved regions.

Strategic Alignment with ADFIAP Special Interest Groups

The newly sanctioned RIDF projects are closely aligned with the strategic priorities of ADFIAP’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs), reinforcing the collaborative spirit and shared mission of its member institutions:

  •        SIG on Sustainable Housing: By investing in rural infrastructure, NABARD’s initiatives support the creation of dignified, sustainable living environments, particularly in marginalized communities.
  •        SIG on Infrastructure: The emphasis on roads, connectivity, and essential amenities directly contributes to building resilient, climate-smart infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of rural populations.

This alignment underscores how ADFIAP members are translating global best practices into actionable programs that drive inclusive development and long-term impact.
