Tonga Development Bank (TDB) www.tdb.to has been serving as the conduit of the Centre for the Development of Enterprise (CDE) in Tonga.  CDE is an institution of the ACP group of states (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) and the EU under the framework of the Cotonou Agreement, CDE’s activities include creation, expansion, diversification and restructuring of enterprises to improve profitability and development impact; improve competitiveness; and capacity-building.

Sectors eligible for CDE assistance include private sector enterprises, investment-promoting organizations, ACP consultants and advisory companies and development finance institutions (DFIs). In principle, all sectors are eligible, but in accordance with CDE’s stated mission, priority is given to projects that have high impact on development, preservation of the environment, and are based on responsible management.
