ADFIAP attends digital strategies for development forum

ADFIAP attended and participated in the high-impact level discussions on information and communications technology (ICT) for development during the “Digital Strategies for Development Forum” (DSDF) held on September 7-8, 2017 at the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The event was hosted by the ADB in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) of the Government of the Philippines, the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST).

The DSDF, which started in 2014, serves as a venue for high level discussions on digital technologies where it tackles sectoral and thematic development strategies toward digital economy in Asia and the Pacific region. Through various presentations and panel discussions, digital technologies were highlighted to greatly impact the economic and societal development of nations, and the adoption of these may even allow developing countries to leapfrog over traditional development pathways, from resource-based economies and labor-intensive industries to the production of knowledge-based products and services.

ADFIAP Deputy Secretary General, Norman Tilos, and Knowledge Resource Executive & Sustainability Officer, Enrique Florencio, represented ADFIAP in the event.
