ADFIAP Awards 2013 honors 8 winners, 9 special citations for outstanding projects

award photoIn recognition for their outstanding contribution to the development of their respective countries, nineteen (19) ADFIAP members were honored during the Welcome Reception and Awards Night on May 22, 2013 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in conjunction with 36th ADFIAP Annual Meetings (please see related story).

The winners for this year’s “Outstanding Development Project Awards” were: IDBI Bank, for “Leveraging Human Capital to Deliver Customer Delight and Impact Overall Growth” (Human Capital Development category); Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) for “Energy Efficiency Improvements in Furnaces used in SME Steel Industry Clusters in India” and World Bank-GEF Project: Financing Energy Efficiency in MSMEs” (Environmental Development category); Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS Malaysia) for “Franchise Development Program” (SME Development category); Development Bank of the Philippines for “Connecting Rural Urban Intermodal Systems Efficiency (CRUISE) Program” (Infrastructure Development category); DFCC Bank for “Annai Sea Food Trade” (Local Economic Development category); TEKUN Nasional for “Improved Living Standards of Low-Income Household in Agro-Food Sector and Agro-based Industry” (Financial Inclusion category); Johor Corporation for “Johor Corporation Corporate Governance” (Corporate Governance category); Development Bank of Japan , Inc. for “DBJ Women Entrepreneurs Center” (Corporate Social Responsibility category).

Merit Awards were also given to: Oman Development Bank for “Resources Development in ODB: Competencies Management” (Human Capital Development Category); National Housing Bank for “Promotion of Solar Water Heating and Lighting Equipments in Homes” and Land Bank of the Philippines for “Carbon Finance Support Facility – Program of Activities for Piggery Farm & Sanitary Landfill Projects (Environmental Development category); Bank of Industry and Mine (BIM) for “BIM’s Various SME Development Projects” (SME Development category); RCBC Savings Bank for “RCBC’s Savings Bank Access One” (Technology Development category); Export-Import Bank of India for Eximbank India’s Lending Programme for Financing Creative Economy” (Trade Development); Alalay sa Kaunlaran, Inc. (ASKI) for “Empowering Small Farmers through Financing Market Linkaging and Capacity Building” (Local Economic Development category); Fiji Development Bank for “Social Banking Facility” and Rural Development Bank for “The First Pilot Sub-Project on the Development of Agricultural Sector for the Villages along the Border” (Financial Inclusion category); and Bhutan Development Bank Limited for “Cooperative Farmers Exposure Program” and Bank of Bhutan Limited for “Need Based Scholarship Scheme” (Corporate Social Responsibility category).

Special Awards were also given to: DFCC bank and SME Bank of Thailand for Best Annual Report; Vnesheconombank for Best Sustainability Report; DFCC Bank for Best Website; Bhutan Development Bank Limited for Best in Membership Recruitment; and Bank of Bhutan Limited for First Payor.
