ADFIAP co-organizes WFDFI CEO Forum in Botswana

collageADFIAP, in cooperation with its regional counterparts in the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions (WFDFI), co-organized the ‘WFDFI CEO Forum’ at the Gaborone International convention Center (GICC) in Gaborone, Botswana on November 2-4, 2016. Over 350 delegates from 31 countries participated in the event with the theme, “DFIs: Sustaining Relevance in the Age of Disruption”.

The Forum, which is an annual platform for chief executive officers of development banks to meet with and learn from each other, was highly-rated by the participants for its content and logistical qualities. The event was officiated by the Hon. Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi, the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana, who in his inaugural speech, commended the DFIs for their role in accelerating industrialization, economic growth and human development. The opening ceremony was also attended by dignitaries from government ministries and agencies as well as from diplomatic offices in the country.

The Forum was hosted by Botswana’s Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) jointly with the Abidjan-based Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) which is a counterpart regional organization of ADFIAP.
