ADFIAP invited to fully-hosted MICE events

As an international association that organizes events, ADFIAP regularly gets invitations from the MICE industry exhibit organizers and suppliers around the world. MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions and MICE suppliers include country destinations, venues (such as convention centers, hotels), professional conference organizers, event managers, association management companies, etc. These invitations are usually fully-hosted, i.e., the organizers offer free airfare, hotel, and meals for qualified invitees. Two such organized MICE events are the IBTM World in Barcelona, Spain and the World MICE Industry Day in Qingdao, China.

IBTM World https://www.ibtmworld.com/ is the leading global event for the MICE and business travel industry. This year’s IBTM World was held from November 28-30, 2017 at the Fira Gran Via, Montjuic 2 Exhibition Centre in Barcelona which attracted over 15,000 industry professionals and 3,000 exhibitors, including association and industry leaders, with the aim of effectively gaining competitive advantage for their businesses and of keeping abreast with the latest developments in the meetings industry.

ADFIAP Consulting (AC) Head, Ms. Corazon D. Conde represented ADFIAP in the event where she held meetings with 35 exhibitors and service providers, a good number of which offered financial subsidies and other support services for conventions and congresses held in certain destinations. This development provides an alternative option for ADFIAP in its annual meetings and other events.

On October 25-27, 2017, ADFIAP participated in the 3-day 2017 World MICE Industry Day held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao, China. With the theme, “Boosting Silk Road Meeting Industry”, the event provided a professional communication platform for the MICE industry people around the globe. The participants were shown the latest trends in the MICE industry with experts from different countries sharing their latest skills in transferring MICE business through modern technologies.

More than 170 local and foreign delegates attended the event representing various stakeholders from governments, businesses, academics and non-governmental organizations. The event was hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Qingdao Sub-Council) and co-organized by BIT Congress, Inc. ADFIAP was represented in the event by Arlene S. Orencia, Head of Projects and Programs, ADFIAP Consulting.
