ADFIAP speaks at CEFIA’s 2nd Government-Private Forum

On the invitation of Japan’s Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI), ADFIAP, represented by Ms. Ma. Nanette Biason, head of ADFIAP Finance and Investment Center (AFIC), participated and spoke in a web conference of the “2nd Government-Private Forum on Cleaner Energy Future Initiative for ASEAN (CEFIA)” on February 2, 2021.

Ms. Biason presented the idea of a flagship project on ASEAN-wide “Collaboration on Cleaner Finance” as a future undertaking whose proposed approaches and activities can be done by ADFIAP in partnership with CEFIA, an effective collaboration to further strengthen the current activities and initiatives already being done at the country and regional levels and among the public and private sectors.

The CEFIA forum was hosted by the Ministry of Energy of the Government of Thailand in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) of the Government of Japan, with support from the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and MRI.

The event gathered ASEAN+3 government officials, international organizations, and private companies to share progress on cleaner finance activities, present abstracts on flagship projects, and discuss future activities to address the region’s bid to transition to a low-carbon economy.

CEFIA is an initiative proposed by Japan and welcomed by ASEAN +3 Ministers of Energy at the 16th ASEAN+3 Meeting of Energy Ministers in Bangkok, Thailand in September 2019. It is a platform to facilitate collaboration and accelerate the deployment of cleaner energy and low carbon technologies in the ASEAN region.
