On the invitation of the Philippine Star, an English-language print and digital newspaper in the Philippines and the flagship brand of the PhilStar Media Group, ADFIAP, represented by its Secretary-General, Enrique I. Florencio, spoke on ADFIAP’s story of a 20-year journey of embracing and embedding the principles of EESG (economic, environmental, social and governance) together with its member-DFIs or development finance institutions that led to the institutionalization of green finance in their loan portfolios.

Mr. Florencio shared the ADFIAP’s “Greening of DFIs” initiative, which started from within the Association about 20 years ago, as its commitment to sustainable development which leads its members to undertake projects that are economically viable, environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and under the ambit of good governance.

The main objective of the conference which was held online on July 30, 2021 is to raise public awareness on responsible/green investing, demonstrate that adherence to sustainability principles is becoming a ‘must’ for investors, and share insights on why responsible/green investing is the way to go post-pandemic.
