IMG_0254ADFIAP, represented by its Secretary General, Octavio B. Peralta, was one of the panel of discussants at the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) official side event of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) VI held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The JICA seminar entitled, “Towards Expanding and Deepening Partnerships through Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) by Global and Regional Cooperation” was held at the Palacina Hotel and was attended by 75 participants from public and private national and international organizations.

The event was aimed, among others, to increase the role of development finance institutions (DFIs) in economic, industrial and social development as well as to strengthen the cooperation of DFIs, particularly the existing cooperation of ADFIAP and the Southern African Development Community Development Finance Resource Center (SADC-DFRC) envisioned through a post-event joint resolution.

The seminar also focused on two key areas of development, namely, infrastructure development through public-private partnership and the promotion and financing of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). ADFIAP presented its member-DFIs’ case studies on these areas.
