Agrobank welcomes new President / Chief Executive Officer

Agrobank announced the appointment of Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin as the President / Chief Executive Officer (P/CEO) of Agrobank effective 3 January 2022. With more than 29 years of extensive experience in banking and finance, Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin is an established leader with a wealth of experience and a proven track record within the industry. Prior to joining Agrobank, he held the position of various leadership roles in several large financial institutions in Malaysia namely Pelaburan MARA Berhad (PMB), Kuwait Finance House, and HSBC.
“The appointment of Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin demonstrates our strong dedication to ensure the success and the accomplishment in spearheading our ongoing 2021 – 2025 Strategic Business Plan (SBP). The Board is confident that he is well-positioned to drive and lead the next exhilarating phase of Agrobank to assist the unserved and underserved community and transform the agrifinance landscape beyond banking, as outlined in the value-based intermediation (VBI),” said Dato’ Mustapha Buang.
Commenting on his appointment, Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin said, “I am deeply humbled and honored to have been given the trust to lead Agrobank, an important development financial institution (DFI) to shaping a successful future of agriculture sector. Agrobank has shown great performance in fulfilling its mandated role especially during the pandemic of COVID-19 and has grown tremendously ever since. That speaks volumes of the leadership of the Bank and the dedication of the Bank’s employees as a whole.”
Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM). He attended the Islamic Finance Leadership Programme at Clare College, Cambridge University, United Kingdom, and Executive Leadership Programme at Cornell University, United States. He holds a Bachelor of Law, LLB (Hons) at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England.
