In recognition of their contribution to the development of their respective countries, ADFIAP honoured 14 of its members during the ADFIAP Awards gala dinner held in Istanbul, Turkey on April 25, 2012. This year’s winners of the “Outstanding Development Project” Awards were: Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India for its project “Developing a Cadre of Resource Persons to Promote Entrepreneurship” (Human Capital Development category); Development Bank of the Philippines and Small Industries Development Bank of India for “Promoting Water Sustainability in Boracay Island through Public-Private Partnership” and “Taxi Financing Scheme, “Auto Rickshaw Financing”, and “Energy Efficiency Lines of Credit, respectively, (Environmental Development category); Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad
for its “Portfolio Credit Guarantee” (SME Development category); Land Bank of the Philippines for its “Construction of Rock Causeway with Pier Head and Other Facilities (Infrastructure Development category); Business Development Bank of Canada and DFCC Bank for “BDC’s Information and Communications Technology Initiatives” and “M-Banx Banking Platform, respectively, (Technology Development category); Export Import Bank of India for its “Buyer’s Credit under the National Export Insurance Account for Financing Projects Exports from India” (Trade Development category); Bank of Industry and Mine and Development Bank of Japan, Inc. for “BIM’s Various Projects in Uplifting the Local Economic Development” and “Financial Support to Recover from East Japan Earthquake Disaster” and “Establishing DBJ Asia Financial Center, respectively, (Local Economic Development category); People’s Credit and Finance Corporation and IDBI Bank Limited for “Microfinance: PCFC Social Reform Program for the Poor” and “Rural Transformation Fellowship Program, respectively (Development Finance-led Poverty Reduction category); Small Industries Development Bank of India for its “Code of Conduct Assessment Tool” (Corporate Governance category); and Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan Limited for its “Rural Housing Insurance Scheme (Corporate Social Responsibility category).
Merit Awards were also given to Bank of Bhutan and RCBC Savings Bank for their projects, “Bank of Bhutan Employee Scholarship” and “Employees’ WOW Experience in RCBC Savings Bank”, respectively, (Human Capital Development category); National Housing Bank for its “Energy Efficient Residential Housing in India” (Environmental Development category); Esquire International Financing, Inc. and Johor Corporation for “Establishment of Esquire Financing, Inc. and Johor Corporation Intrapreneruship Schemes”, respectively, (SME Development category); and Sabah Credit Corporation for its project “CSR Program for the Retirees and Senior Citizens ”(Corporate Social Responsibility category).
Special Citation Awards were also given to RCBC Savings Bank (Best Website); Lanka ORIX Leasing Company PLC (Best Annual Report); Land Bank of the Philippines (Best Sustainability Report); Small Industries Development Bank of India (Best in Membership Recruitment) and Export Import Bank of India (First Membership Dues Payor).
