AC invited to IMF economic report launch

The ADFIAP Consulting (AC) Group was invited by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines – BSP) in the launching of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Report on Regional Economic Outlook for Asia and the Pacific on October 17, 2011 at the BSP Assembly Hall.  The report contains the assessment of the IMF on recent economic developments and policy challenges in Asia and the Pacific with focus on the theme “Navigating an Uncertain Global Environment While Building Inclusive Growth”.

BSP Governor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr, in his opening remarks and presentation of the report, cited BSP’s initiatives on inclusive growth and its advocacy on microfinance and financial inclusion. Sessions were held on the topics “The Asia-Pacific Economic Outlook and Policy Changes” presented by Mr. Anoop Singh, Director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the IMF and on “Building Inclusive Growth in Asia” presented by Dr. Vivek Arora, Assistant Director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the IMF.

In attendance were the BSP Monetary Board Members and top-ranking officials from financial institutions, industry associations, government agencies, NGOs and the academe, who gave their own reactions and views on the regional economic outlook and actively participated in the ensuing Q& A.

The AC team was represented in the event by its Group Head, Ms. Cora Conde, and Programs and Projects Head, Ms Arlene Orencia.  In the photo with Ms. Conde and Ms. Orencia is Monetary Board Member Alfredo C. Antonio, former Chairman of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), an ADFIAP member.
