ADFIAP, APUHF sign memo of cooperation

Picture 1ADFIAP and the Asia-Pacific Union for Housing Finance (APUHF) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on October 4, 2013 at the ADFIAP International Headquarters in Manila, Philippines, to harness common synergies through the implementation of projects, programs and activities of mutual interest. The agreement was signed by Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, ADFIAP Secretary General and Mr. Zaigham M. Rizvi, APUH Secretary General. Mr. Rizvi is an Honorary Member of ADFIAP and served earlier as its Vice Chairman of the Board when he was Chairman and Managing Director of House Building Finance Corporation of Pakistan.

ADFIAP and APUHF agreed to jointly cooperate and undertake, among others, the following: (a) facilitate interaction between their member-institutions in order to encourage strategic alliances and networking among themselves as well as their partner-organizations (b) jointly develop and promote institutional capacity-building projects and programs to enhance the capability of their constituencies (c) co-organize, collaborate and assist each other in conferences and forums on sustainable development and housing development and finance as well as other relevant topics and (d) explore other areas of cooperation such as information and study exchanges, research and other relevant endeavors.

APUHF was organized to provide a basis and a platform for exchange of ideas, views, experiences, events, practices, products, products in different countries which may help in policy design, strategic intervention and design of different instruments, for low income housing and the housing finance market, exchange of learning and best practices so as to facilitate a coordinated approach towards “Housing for All” in different countries in the region.
