Aligned with its objective to develop and implement programs in fulfillment of the U.N.-backed sustainable development goals (SDGs) 2030, ADFIAP, represented by its Knowledge Management Unit Head & Sustainability Officer, Mr. Enrique Florencio, attended the “Business and Government Summit: Welcoming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” on January 30, 2016 held at the DM Hall Landbank Plaza Malate Manila. The event, organized by the Philippine Marketing Association(PMA)and hosted by the Land Bank of the Philippines, convened more than 100 participants from the private sector, local government units, associations, NGOs and the academe.
The summit was the kick-off venue to bring together, educate and assist key local business network to collaborate with government, associations, academe and NGOs to enable a wider scope of programs that may be implemented for the Philippines’ SDG goals.
Mr. Florencio participated in one of the topics of the roundtable discussions, i.e., on communication (programs, education, workshops) where he shared the advocacy of ADFIAP in promoting sustainable development.
The keynote speaker was Mr. Y.W. Junardy, Board Member of the U.N. Global Compact Network (New York) and President of Indonesia Global Compact Network, who shared the global initiatives of the U.N. Global Compact Network as well as their programs in Indonesia. Other speakers were from Landbank of the Philippines, Mr . Butch Garcia, UNDP Philippines’ Ms. Luisa Isabel Lim-Jolongbayan and NEDA Policy and Planning Division Asst. Director General, Dr. Rosemarie Edillon.
