ADFIAP, German partners launch the Global Sustainability Center

GSCAs an offshoot of its long-time cooperation with the European Organization for Sustainable Development (EOSD), ADFIAP and EOSD together with other German partners, the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT) and the City of Karlsruhe, Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding on the setting up of a Global Sustainability Center (GSC) to support and contribute to the efforts of governments, corporates, academia and civil societies in making a transition to an environmental friendly, socially responsible, economically sound and harmonious global society. The first GSC is located in Karlsruhe with plans to set up similar centers in the Asia-Pacific region where ADFIAP has members.

The GSC aims to provide a fully integrated package that includes: (a) work space, laboratory, high-end R&D facilities, marketing and business development support services for start-up and existing SMEs (b) access to financing for businesses that create low carbon and sustainable economy and (c) capacity building and technical assistance in specialized fields such as in green technologies and in sustainable banking and finance.
