On invitation by the Karnataka Tourism of the Government of India, ADFIAP represented by its Knowledge Management Head, Enrique I. Florencio, attended the 6th Conventions India Conclave as a hosted participant. The annual event was organized by the India Conventions Promotions Bureau (ICPB) and was held on August 27-28, 2010 at the Ashok Lalit Hotel in Bangalore, India. Around 275 delegates, representing 160 associations, organizations and companies across 22 countries attended the convention.

The conclave is a unique event for the participants as it was an excellent platform for them to learn from their experiences and to share with each other updates on infrastructural facilities, systems, techniques and other related services for planning and organizing meetings in their respective countries. The speakers were active industry professionals, having high levels of creative experiences. They encouraged the participants to focus on the challenging and changing future of conventions and conferences through the different presentations and sharing of best practices.

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has been actively involved in the support and enhancement of efforts of the India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) to further the objective of making India a world class MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) destination.
