ADFIAP IDF, AC conduct webinar on loan portfolio management

ADFIAP’s Institute of Development Finance (IDF), in collaboration with ADFIAP Consulting (AC) Group, conducted a webinar on “Strengthening Loan Portfolio Management in the Credit Process” on June 15 to 17, 9:30 am -12:30 pm,  Philippine Standard Time.

The webinar is part of a series of online learning sessions for ADFIAP members and development partners that aims to provide participants with insights from fellow development finance professionals as well as to update them on current trends and practical tools to further improve their work.

This 3-day, 3-hour per day webinar was developed to enhance ADFIAP member banks’ skills in the identification and management of credit risks and explore potential new approaches to the new dynamics in credit risk management in view of the Covid 19 pandemic.

The training was attended by 13 top management and senior officers from seven banks and financial institutions, namely, the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank of Cambodia, Fiji Development Bank, Bank Pembangunan, Malaysia Berhad, People’s Microbank, Ltd of Papua New Guinea, National Development Bank of Palau, DFCC Bank of Sri-Lanka, and the Tonga Development Bank.

The webinar covered the topics of Covid 19’s impact to the credit risk environment, risk management strategies,  the capabilities that lenders need to cushion the shocks of the Covid 19 pandemic and the various credit risk stress testing models.

The main speakers of the webinar were Ms. Corazon Conde, AC Group Head, Ms. Arlene Orencia, AC Lead Consultant for Sustainable Finance, Credit Appraisal, and Asset Management, Atty. Alberto Reyno, AC Managing Principal / Legal Counsel and Mr. Victor Abainza, AC Senior Consultant on Rural and SME Finance, Climate Finance and ESG.
