On invitation by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), ADFIAP, represented by its Secretary General, Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, made one of two keynote addresses on the first policy-industry dialogue on “Closing the Financing Gap for a Resource Efficient Asia-Pacific” held at the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on November 6, 2013.
Mr. Peralta presented ADFIAP’s role in advocating for environmental governance and due diligence in the region by presenting the green/climate finance initiatives of its member-DFIs in cooperation with private sector partners and constituencies.
The event, organized jointly by UNEP, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and with the support of the European Union, through its SWITCH Asia Programme, attracted over 70 participants from government authorities, financial institutions, development banks, academic institutions, industry associations, topical expert, and other actors driving financing of greener industries in the region.
With the goal of linking policy and industry stakeholders to enable access to finance for resource efficiency in Asia, the forum is part of an annual series exploring the links between policy and industry for sustainable consumption and production (SCP) in the Asia-Pacific region.
