ADFIAP, MicroSave explore cooperation on financial inclusion programs

MicrosaveThe ADFIAP Secretariat was visited by two representatives from MicroSave, Messrs. Anup Singh and Shiv Shankar, on February 5, 2013 at its Manila headquarters to explore cooperation opportunities on financial inclusion programs through micro, small and medium (MSME) value chain finance. They met with ADFIAP Secretary General, Mr. Octavio B. Peralta and ADFIAP Consulting’s (AC) Ms. Cora Conde and Ms. Cristy Aquino and discussed synergies in the areas of consulting, training and capacity-building for the microfinance and SME sector, among others.

ADFIAP has advocated for financial inclusion through its members work in providing access to financial and technical resources to MSMEs. ADFIAP has also engaged with the APEC Business Advisory Group (ABAC) on regional financial inclusion issues and has a working partnership with the Australian APEC Study Centre at RMIT University Melbourne (AASC) in organizing seminars and conferences on financial inclusion regulatory framework.

MicroSave offers consulting services in the areas of microfinance and banking, E/M-Banking for financial inclusion, SMEs, private sector development and responsible finance and has emerged as an industry leader in these areas, contributing significantly to the global debate on the importance of broadening the boundaries of financial service provision to the poor. MicroSave believes that financial inclusion (access to high quality, affordable savings, credit, remittance and insurance services) for the poor is essential for their emancipation from poverty. It serves clients in Africa and Asia and has offices in India, Indonesia, Kenya, Uganda and the Philippines.
