ADFIAP organizes 4-country study mission for BDBL

On the request of Bhutan Development Bank Limited (BDBL), ADFIAP organized another study mission for the Thimpu-based member-bank, this time visiting fellow-members in the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. The study tour program will afford BDBL officers to learn and exchange knowledge on banking operations with these institutions in four countries.

The 8-man delegation first visited the ADFIAP Secretariat in Manila where they were welcomed and updated on the programs and advocacies of the Association and on financing models for SMEs by ADFIAP Secretary General Mr. Octavio B. Peralta and the Head of the ADFIAP Consulting Group, Ms Cora Conde, respectively.

While in Manila, the delegation also visited two ADFIAP members, the Land Bank of the Philippines and the RCBC Savings Bank. At Landbank, Mr. Edgardo Ramirez, Department Manager, Customer Service, Product Development Department, gave an overview of the bank’s operations, programs and thrusts and discussed the bank’s products development in IT, internet banking, and phone banking. At RCBC, the team of Executive Vice President, Retail Banking Group, Ms. Emy Chavez, presented the overview of the bank’s operations and discussed IT, human resources and other services of the Bank.

The delegation next country destinations would be Vietnam (Vietnam Development Bank); Cambodia (Rural Development Bank of Cambodia); and Thailand (SME Bank of Thailand), respectively.
