ADFIAP organizes briefing on CSR and technology

ADFIAP, in cooperation with its member, Planters Development Bank (PDB), organized a half-day executive briefing on February 2, 2012 at the PDB SME Center on the topic, “CSR & Technology: Convergence for Social Good”. The event was attended by 15 corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Information technology (IT) officers of ADFIAP member-banks and other organizations.

Two presentations were made during the event. Team Energy Foundation Executive Director Mr. Roderick de Castro highlighted his presentation with a case study on how CSR, with energy as catalyst, has helped in countryside development. He elaborated on their foundation’s rural electrification program and its positive as well as negative results in the lives of people in far-flung areas of the country. Another presentation, that of Metrolink Solutions Corporation, had Mr. Paul Brandenburg and Mr. George Delmas covering a social business initiative themed “SPARC” or Sustainable Progressive Action for Revitalization of Communities which provides a holistic approach to community development, education and medical services via internet-enabled content, applications and physical support structures. ADFIAP Secretary General, Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, gave the welcome and closing remarks to the participants.
