ADFIAP participates in low-carbon economic development forum

low carbon development ForumOn invitation of the Shanghai-based Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center (AFDC), ADFIAP represented by its Secretary General, Octavio B. Peralta, shared the Association and its members’ green governance and finance experience with 91 participants from 16 countries who came from multilateral organizations, public and private sectors as well as the academe.

The event, which is a biennial forum organized by AFDC was themed, “Fiscal and Financial Policies for Low-carbon Economic Development” and was co-sponsored by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Held on November 26, 2010 at eh Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI), the forum afforded participants to learn and share challenges as well as opportunities in developing low-carbon economy or “green growth” in the Asia-Pacific region.

AFDC, with support from the Chinese government, the World Bank and other institutions, aims to become an internationally-recognized platform for regional cooperation and communication, capacity building, and sustainable economic development growth.
