ADFIAP partners with ASEAN Business Advisory Council PhilippinesIn line with ADFIAP’s role as an effective advocate of micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) finance, green finance, financial inclusion and good governance, ADFIAP was invited by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Philippines (ASEAN-BAC Philippines) to be a partner for the 1st ASEAN Business Awards Philippines. ASEAN-BAC Philippines is the local representative of the ASEAN-BAC, the official linkage tasked to provide feedback and guidance to boost ASEAN’s efforts towards economic integration and identify priority areas for consideration by the ASEAN Leaders.

The ASEAN Business Award aims to recognize enterprises that have contributed to the growth and prosperity of the ASEAN economy. Specifically, the Awards aims to recognize outstanding Filipino enterprises in the categories of innovation, corporate excellence, ASEAN strategy, women leadership and young entrepreneur. The objective of this initiative is to prepare the business community, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in order that they may fully maximize the benefits and opportunities offered by the economic integration.

ADFIAP, whose membership includes the finance sector, provides an effective platform in disseminating information and generating feedback with regard to the efforts of the ASEAN-BAC by creating a visible link to the ASEAN-BAC website in the ADFIAP website.

An official ceremony for the signing of the memorandum of understanding between ASEAN-BAC and partners was held on April 29, 2014 at the Manila Peninsula led by Ms. Teresita Sy-Coson, Vice Chairman for SM Investment Corporation. The signing ceremony formally launched the ASEAN Business Awards Philippines application period. Interested companies and enterprises may visit to apply, while details of the application guidelines and mechanics may be viewed at ADFIAP was represented in the signing ceremony by Ms. Corazon D. Conde, Head of the ADFIAP Consulting Group and Mr. Victor Abainza, ADFIAP Consultant.
