ADFIAP shares SME best practices with Sri Lanka’s policy studies agency

Mr. Anushka Wijesinha of Sri Lanka’s Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) met with ADFIAP Secretary General, Mr. Octavio B. Peralta and ADFIAP Consulting Head, Ms. Cora Conde, on May 6, 2011 at the ADFIAP headquarters regarding the policy framework and government initiatives supporting SME growth and development in the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Wijesinha is involved in providing inputs for the drafting of a new SME national strategy and policy, a task led by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the National Enterprise Development Authority.

The meeting with ADFIAP provided Mr. Wijesinha insights on national policies and initiatives of ADFIAP member-development finance institutions that promote SME growth and development in the Philippines and other countries which he said he will bring home with him and discuss with his principals for possible replication in Sri Lanka. Also discussed is the possibility of convening a conference on SME best practices in Sri Lanka for this purpose.
