ADFIAP, SME Bank Malaysia plan collaborative programs

SME Bank Group Picture 2ADFIAP Secretariat officers, led by its Secretary General Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, met with visiting SME Bank Berhad’s senior officials headed by Managing Director Datuk Mohd. Radzif bin Mohd Yunus on March 26, 2013 at the Association headquarters in Manila to discuss joint programs and activities, particularly in the field of small and medium enterprise (SME) development and finance.

The meeting centered on the newly-set up SME Bank subsidiary, the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development and Research (CEDAR) which is the Bank’s DFI and SME training, consultancy and research arm. Among the areas discussed were the proposed certification courses for SME Development Bankers as well as the holding of the Global SME Finance and Development Conference in Kuala Lumpur this November (exact dates to be determined shortly). This international conference will also serve as the ADFIAP CEO Forum X (10th edition), the Association’s annual platform for learning and experience sharing for its member-institutions.

SME Bank is dedicated to the accelerated growth of Malaysian SMEs whose principal activities are to provide financing as well as financial and business advisory services to SMEs which have been framed within the SME classification guidelines of the National SME Development Council of the country.
