ADFIAP speaks at CDB-hosted forum on poverty reduction

On the invitation of its member, China Development Bank (CDB), ADFIAP, represented by its Secretary General, Octavio B. Peralta, participated and spoke as a panellist in one of the four sessions of the forum entitled, “Financial Support for Poverty Reduction: International Experience and China’s Contribution.”

The virtual event held on December 14-15, 2020 was called, “International Forum on Sharing Poverty Reduction Experience,” with the theme, “Promoting Global Poverty Reduction and Building a Global Community of Shared Future.” The Forum’s objective was for representatives from various countries to share experience and insight on poverty reduction in order to enhance confidence in the fight against poverty and make joint contributions to the achievement of relevant goals of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Over 40 participants from China and around the world attended the event.

In his panel session, Mr. Peralta introduced the work and advocacies of ADFIAP and its members and highlighted case studies that ADFIAP members have done/are doing in the area of financial inclusion, rural development, micro, small and medium enterprises, climate finance, infrastructure finance and partnerships – all related to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ms. Beate Trankman, UNDP Resident Representative to China, moderated the session.
