ADFIAP turns over WFDFI Chair/Secretariat to ADFIMI

Nearing its successful completion on December 31, 2012 of its 3-year term as Chair and Secretariat of the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions (WFDFI), ADFIAP has turned over the WFDFI functions and responsibilities to the Association of National Development Finance Institutions in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI) during the WFDFI Board of Governors meeting hosted by the Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ) at its premises on October 11, 2012 in Tokyo, Japan.

The WFDFI Chair and Secretariat rotates alphabetically every three years among its four regional members, namely, the African Association of Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), ADFIAP, ADFIMI and the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE).

Founded in June 13, 1979 in Zurich, Switzerland, the WFDFI covers 328 member-institutions in 154 countries and territories around the world. Its vision is to be the world’s preeminent knowledge and advocacy network on sustainable development finance.
