ADFIAP’s IDF holds executive leadership certification course

EXEL_grpicADFIAP’s Asia-Pacific Institute of Development Finance (IDF) conducted its 9th edition of its Executive Leadership Program (EXEL) from November 2-13, 2015 in Manila, Philippines. The program was attended by six (6) senior officers of ADFIAP member-DFIs from Palau, Samoa, Sri Lanka and the Philippines who received the credential and title – Certified Development Bank Executive (CDBE) – after satisfactorily completing the program.

The EXEL is Level II of the three-tiered ADFIAP Career Credentialing Program (ACCP), a process of accrediting and recognizing professional competence of development bankers. This 2-week course covered the following modules: (i) Bank Strategic Planning and Management; (ii) Organizational and Human Resource Management; (iii) Treasury and Risk Management; and (iv) Advanced Financial Management. The objective of this program is to enhance the participants’ knowledge on the different aspects of development banking, executive decision-making; good corporate governance and strategic management, human resources management, leadership skills and financial management.

The resource persons of the program were Dr. Alberto Pena, Associate Director of the International Studies and Programs at the Illinois State University; Mr. Orlando Pena, Founding Secretary General of ADFIAP & President & CEO, Asia Business Consultants, Inc. (ABC); and Mr. Ramon Maria Fernandez, International Consultant.
