The Asia-Pacific Institute of Development Finance (IDF) and the ADFIAP Consulting (AC) Group conducted a seminar on “Credit Score Modeling for Banks” on September 7-11, 2015 in Manila, Philippines attended by nine (9) participants from the ADFIAP members in India, Malaysia, Samoa, and the Philippines.
The seminar was designed for banks that already have a credit risk rating system as well as for those which have yet to develop or build their credit risk rating platform. The program was also developed to provide valuable learnings on how a credit rating system should be designed in order to become an effective tool for credit risk management.
The topics discussed during the event included: Credit Scoring Overview; History of Credit Scores; Credit Risk Management and Basel II; Credit Scoring Modeling Framework; Credit Scoring Models; Generally Accepted Characteristics/Qualities of a Credit Scoring System; Making Your Credit Scoring System Efficient for Credit Risk Management; Impact of Credit Scoring System in Account Management; Credit Risk Model Validation; Development of Credit Scoring System; and Role of Information Technology in Credit Score Modeling.
The resource persons of the program were the members of the AC Group composed of Ms. Cora Conde, Atty. Alberto Reyno, Ms. Arlene Orencia, Ms. Cecille Ibarra; Ms. Emy Chavez, and Ms. Cristy Aquino.
