KfW joins ADFIAP as Special Member

KfW Bankengruppe, Germany’s promotional bank, has joined ADFIAP as a Special Member affirming its long-term relationship with the Association that started in earnest in the 1979 when KfW was instrumental in the founding of the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions (WFDFI) https://www.wfdfi.org.ph/ whose regional DFI member-associations are ADFIAP, ALIDE https://www.alide.org.pe/ AADFI https://www.adfi-ci.org/ and ADFIMI https://www.adfimi.org/indexyeni.php.

As a Special Member, KfW joins, among others, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in this membership category. Mr. Uwe Ohls, KfW Entwicklungsbank’s Senior Vice President for Europe and Asia and Ms. Barbara Schnell, Division Chief, Financial and Private Sector for Asia, will represent KfW in ADFIAP.

In the recent past, KfW has supported ADFIAP in information-sharing and capacity-building on sustainable development finance through the provision of experts and speakers during annual meetings of ADFIAP. In August of 2007, KfW hosted ADFIAP members in Frankfurt for an ADFIAP-KfW dialogue on small and medium enterprise (SME) finance.
