Nawang Gyetse, Honorary Member

The ADFIAP General Assembly, in its 14th extraordinary meeting held on April 25, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey, has bestowed an honorary membership to Mr. Nawang Gyetse for serving in the ADFIAP Board representing the Bhutan Development Bank Limited (formerly Bhutan Development Finance Corporation Limited) for almost 9 years from 2003 to 2011.

Mr. Gyetse has served as BDFCL’s Managing Director since April, 2004 until his retirement in December 2011. Before that, he has held the positions of Joint Managing Director of BDFCL from October 1990 to December 1998 and Executive Director from January 1998 to April 2004. Prior to his transfer to BDFCL, he was employed as the General Manager of Gedu Wood Manufacturing Corporation under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Royal Government of Bhutan from January 1982 to July 1990.

He has over 23 years of working experience as of date in government and corporations. He has also participated in various national and international conferences/seminars/workshops/delegations and meetings both within Bhutan and abroad. He holds a Masters in Business Administration Degree (MBA) from Massey University, New Zealand (1996-1997) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Economics) degree from Victoria University, New Zealand (1977 -1980). Mr. Gyetse serves now as an Advisor to the BDBL Managing Director.
