DBP PRESIDENT AND CEO, EMMANUEL G. HERBOSA, is ADFIAP’s CEO OF THE YEAR

DBP President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel G. Herbosa was just named “CEO of the Year” at the 2021 ADFIAP Awards. Mr. Herbosa joined DBP as a professional banker with over four decades of expertise. He held senior positions in corporate banking, consumer banking, branch banking, and foreign banking in some of the most respected financial companies in the country. Prior to joining DBP, he was president and CEO of the Philippine Guarantee Corporation (PGC), a government-run organization that facilitated the entry of foreign loans for development purposes into the Philippines.

Mr. Herbosa, a graduate of De La Salle University’s Industrial Management Engineering program and, later, acquiring a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, believes that the Philippine banking industry is steadily moving towards cutting-edge banking technology, digitalization, and service efficiency and that, development finance institutions (DFIs) like DBP play a vital role in the economic growth and development of the Philippines.

Among his numerous accomplishments, mentoring is his proudest and considers it an honor and a privilege to be able to inspire and assist prospective catalysts of change that might lead to bigger social advantages. Receiving the CEO of the Year award attests to DBP’s strong advocacy and mission of serving as a platform that inspires individuals to perform more meaningful deeds for the country.
