IDF conducts a sustainability webinar-workshop for PUNB Malaysia

The Institute of Development Finance (IDF), ADFIAP’s professional training and career center, conducts a customized webinar workshop on “Sustainability Reporting: Embedding Sustainability Into Your Corporate DNA” with Perbadanan Usahawan Nacional Berhad (PUNB) Malaysia last September 21-24, 2021.

The program is part of a series of online learning sessions for ADFIAP members and development partners specifically to empower PUNB officers with the right skills to implement a GRI-based sustainability reporting plan for PUNB.

The webinar was conducted interactively with participants from different strategic business units of PUNB doing brainstorming sessions to develop a GRI-standard Sustainability Report aligned with the UN Global Compact Ten Principles and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. PUNB’s shareholders and stakeholders will benefit by appreciating their bank’s performance in terms of economics, environment, social, and governance (EESG).

A total of twenty-five (25) participants, including the CEO, senior-level officers, Corporate Communications Officer, Public Relations Officer, and key officers in charge of the bank’s annual reports attended. A core group of ten officers was assigned to do follow-up coaching and mentoring to draft their Sustainability Report.

ADFIAP’s new Secretary-General, Mr. Enrique I. Florencio facilitated the workshop. Mr. Enrique is a Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner and Association Executive and has worked with Sustainability Strategics in various SR projects in the Philippines and at the Asian Development Bank as a project consultant. He has almost two decades of working as an ESG Specialist in select ADFIAP members in the Asia Pacific region and helps promote the integration of ESG standards to increase financing for environmentally sustainable, socially responsible, and climate-friendly projects. He develops and delivers training and webinar modules on sustainability management and reporting. Mr. Florencio holds with him a Masters’s Degree in Business Administration and Educational Technology.
