The problem of lack of potable drinking water is a global concern that needs to be addressed. In Iran, the Bank of Industry Mine (BIM) has been cognizant to this problem, the biggest challenge in the country in recent decades.
To address this, BIM invested the amount of EUR 92 million for the construction of the Saze Sazan water supply and distribution plant with the aim to increase water supply, to lessen the risk of water scarcity in southern Iran, and to localize the technology of holding water supply power plants. The project created more than 150 direct and indirect job opportunities in Southern provinces of the country.
BIM’s “Saze Sazan Water Supply and Distribution Power” received a Merit Award in the 2018 ADFIAP Outstanding Project Award under the infrastructure development category.
