IBA’s card turnover reaches record high

The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) has issued more than 223,000 cards in 2010 and recorded an increased volume of card transactions by 40 million manats, with a total amounting to up to 2.7 billion manats. At present, the number of active bank cards is around 1.8 million units.

The IBA’s ATM Network covers over 50 cities, including Baku, Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, Ganja, Shirvan, Mingachevir, and consists of 605 ATMs. In Baku, 65 information kiosks have also been installed. They carry out all card transactions, except for withdrawals.

The IBA is also improving the acquiring system. To date, over 2,500 sales points and points of service have been involved in the servicing of cards and conditions for using cards in the shops, restaurants and hotels were also created.
