Secretariat revisits strategic plan, gears up for 2013

planning2 (Edited Views)The ADFIAP Secretariat, the ADFIAP Consulting Group together a couple of invited resource persons met for a workshop on January 17, 2013 to revisit the Association’s strategic plan and to set the programs and activities for 2013.

The participants did a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) review of the previous one and updated this accordingly to include recent developments and trends. The team also revisited the identity, mission and vision of ADFIAP and has proposed some recommendations to attune these to the times.

The Secretariat’s business units – the Institute of Development Finance (IDF), the ADFIAP Consulting (AC), and ADFIAP Responsible Citizenship (ARC) Centre as well as its operating units – Membership and Events Management Unit, Knowledge and Management Unit and the Finance and Administration Unit – took turns in presenting their plans and programs for the year. Highlights of the presentations are as follows:

IDF laid out its 2013 calendar of activities, including demand-driven training program offerings as well as its three credentialing programs – the Core Development Banking Program (Level 1), the Development Bank Management Program (Level 2) and the Fellow in Development Banking Program (Level 3).

AC presented their work plan that includes more networking events and partnerships activities for the year. The group also reported on the various grant proposals sent to several grant giving organizations such as the European Commission’s current SWITCH Asia Programme that provides grants for projects that support sustainable consumption and production.

The Membership and Events Management unit presented, among others, the two big annual events of the Association – the Annual Meetings and the CEO Forum. The Knowledge Management unit presented, among others, an update of the nine (9) microsites of the Association as well as the ADFIAP Networking, Education and Exchange (ANEX), an online learning platform which features a discussion board, real chat time, etc.

The resource persons who attended the meeting and shared their inputs included Mr. Orlando Pena, former ADFIAP Secretary General and President of ABC Consulting and Mr. Max Edralin, Jr., Public Relations Consultant of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines).
