VDB supports health care development in Vietnam

The Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) has made positive contributions to the health care service of the Nghe An province of Vietnam.  It has funded three projects with investment value totaling up to VND 720 billion.  According to the signed credit contract, VND 380 billion from state investment credit is committed for these projects with VND 150 billion already disbursed with VND 127 billion outstanding as of November 30, 2013. There is no overdue principal and unpaid interest. With the support of the VDB, Nghe An is striving to reach by 2020 an average of  8.5 doctors per ten thousands residents with 30 beds per one thousand residents. By 2015, more than 75% of communities will meet national criteria for health service and more than 90% of clinics in these localities will have doctors working in place. Furthermore, the participation in health care insurance in the province will be 80%. Two of the three above projects,  Cua Dong General Hospital and 115 General Hospital projects are completed and already into operation. They are making significant contribution to health care service of the province.
