ADFIAP Consulting (AC) participated in a 2-day workshop on “Instruments for SCP-related Advocacy” conducted by Mr. Daniel Thomann of SEQUA, Germany, on October 6-7, 2010 in Cebu City, Philippines under the 3-year SMART Cebu Project, an EU SWITCH Asia programme, where ADFIAP is one of its key implementing partners.
The objective of the workshop was aimed at providing concepts and tools for successful advocacy to enable SMART Cebu partner-organizations to effectively advocate SCP principles to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and various stakeholders as well as to promote and establish SCP policy agenda to appropriate policy makers. Each partner of the SMART Cebu consortium made presentations on its respective area of concern in the project such that at the end of the workshop an SCP Advocacy Committee was constituted with an advocacy agenda and a strategic action plan crafted for implementation in the succeeding year.
AC made a presentation on its advocacy and implementation framework focused on its developmental role as catalyst in advocating SCP principles, promoting green investments and providing technical assistance, coaching and advisory services to its member-development finance institutions and other financial institutions, Cebu Business Membership Organizations (BMOs) and local government units (LGUs) .
Other SMART Cebu project partners who participated in the workshop are the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation (CFIF), Fashion Accessories Manufacturers and Exporters (FAME), and Gift, Toys and Housewares Association (GTH) and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP).
AC was represented by Ms.Corazon D. Conde, Group Head, Ms. Cecilia M. Ibarra, Head for Advocacy and Training and Ms. Arlene Orencia, Head for Projects and Programs.
