ADFIAP attends green finance dialogue in Myanmar

As part of the EU-funded Switch Asia project, “SMEs for Accountability, Responsibility and Transparency (SMART) Myanmar 2.0, ADFIAP, as project partner, participated in a “Public-Private Dialogue on Green Finance” on November 28, 2017 at the Sedona Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar. 60 senior officials from the EU, project partners, banks, the Central Bank, associations, international development organizations and SMEs attended the forum.

The event was aimed at advocating and promoting green finance and investment in Myanmar by putting together the key stakeholders in one forum to meet, learn from each other, and share the current situation on green financing as well as its issues, challenges, solutions and opportunities for this new financing modality. It was also an occasion for a select group of SMEs to pitch their business plans to banks at a business match-making session during the forum.

The SMART Myanmar 2.0 project https://www.smartmyanmar.org is a 4-year EU-funded project aimed at improving production and increase consumption of sustainably produced garments from Myanmar through up-scaling and improving on best practice mechanisms developed and implemented during SMART Myanmar 1.0.
