ADFIAP Macao annual meeting on the SDGs draws record attendance

More than a hundred delegates from 30 countries of ADFIAP members, partners and guests convened in Macao SAR, China on May 10-12, 2017 to attend the 40th ADFIAP Annual Meetings themed, “DFIs and SDGs: Opportunities and Challenges”. The event was supported by the China Development Bank (CDB), the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Macao Association of Banks, Macao Convention & Exhibition Association and Macao Expo Group Limited.

Highlighting this year’s meeting are the conference proper, the 22nd Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly, the 85th Board of Directors Meeting, the welcome dinner and awards night, the delegate-meets-delegate session and the fellowship tour.

The conference afforded the delegates to learn, share and discuss the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) officially known as “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. Topics included: Introduction to SDGs/Progress and Challenges To Date; Long-term SDG Planning and DFIs: What are the Areas of Intersection?; Roadmaps: Scaling up DFIs for the SDGs; How DFIs can Support Regional Integration for the SDGs; and Opportunities for DFIs in Infrastructure and Green Banking.
The ADFIAP annual meeting serves a platform for its members and other organizations to share experiences, conduct networking meetings and discuss issues and concerns affecting them. This event is usually being held in different venues in the Asia-Pacific region where the Association has members.

The 41st ADFIAP Annual Meetings will be held in New Delhi, India in February 2018. Exact dates will be announced in due time.
